Town Administrator Search Committee

The Town of Harvard Select Board created an ad-hoc committee to conduct the necessary search for a new Town Administrator following a hiring process that is transparent, fair and involves input from the public. The Committee will screen and evaluate applicants and perform initial interviews for the position of Town Administrator for the purpose of providing to the Select Board a list of those applicants qualified for further consideration.

This Committee is charged with:

  • The Town Administrator Search Committee Webpage
  • A process for soliciting the 2 At-large residents for appointment by the Select Board
  • A survey for stakeholder input
  • A central location for the collection of submitted resumes
  • An evaluation process of applications
  • A rubric for the Interview Process/Rating/Questions of Candidates
  • Conducting screening process and initial interviews

The Committee will make the following recommendations to the Select Board:

  • The 2 At-large Residents
  • After the evaluation of the applications, whether to expand the search criteria and/or update the job description
  • A list of those applicants qualified for further consideration

The make-up of the committee will include:

  • 2 At-large residents
  • Town Moderator
  • 2 Members of Select Board
  • 1 Member of the School Committee
  • 1 Member of the Finance Committee
  • 1 Town Department Head
  • 1 Town Employee Personnel Board Representative
  • 1 Town Employee Town Administration Representative
